I remember when I first heard about Malala's story and thought that she is such an incredible person who got shot purely because she wanted an education.
Malala Yousafzai was a schoolgirl from Pakistan’s Swat Valley who blogged for the BBC. She wrote about how the Taliban had banned her and her friends from attending school. Once the Taliban were forced out of power she became a well known figure, internationally as someone who campaigned for the right of all girls to have an education.
On the 9th October 2012 the Taliban sent a Gunman to kill her. She was on her school bus when a gunman asked for Malala by name. She was 15 at the time when she was shot in the head and shoulder. She was left to die.
Malala Yousafzai survived the murder and still, after everything she has been through campaigns for an education for everyone in Pakistan.
This is something that our generation take for granted.
So, the other day I was scrolling through the Daily Mail website (I know it is not the best newspaper to read but I love the gossip) and I saw an article about lots of celebrities such as Selena Gomez and Orlando Bloom have been involved in a campaign about her story. I watched it and was instantly moved. I cry at lots of things and as soon as it showed Malala at the end of this 1:07 clip I burst into tears.
Here is the link to the article with the video: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2602977/Selena-Gomez-Orlando-Bloom-celebs-tell-Malala-Yousafzais-brave-story-video-promoting-education-equality.html
I think that the way that this clip has been created, with a mix and match of celebrities saying little pieces of her story is really effective. I really think that this is something which everyone should have a look at. I am so inspired by her story and think that children of today don't value education enough. It is something which everybody doesn't have access to which is really wrong. Malala is one of my inspirations and I think that her story is not spoken enough. So please is you have the chance, check this out.
I am sorry that I have not posted for a while but I have been super busy with work. I know this is a different post but I wanted to share with you something which I found inspiring, and I hope you do to.
Lots of Love
