When I travelled to China!

A few years ago (coming up to 2 years go in October) I travelled a group of around 13 people to China! I remember my mum was the one who was pushing me to go on this trip as I was very nervous but she said it would be the most amazing experience. None of my family had every been to China so I did not have a clue what to expect. I only knew one person on the trip who was my friend Sarah which made it even more nerve wracking.

I won't be able to write about everything because you will probably get too bored however I will talk about some of the things I did and my overall experience.

One of the most exciting things that we had the opportunity to do on the trip was to go to a Primary School and see some of the children in lessons. But the best thing about it was that were allowed to teach an English lesson to a class for 30 mins! There were two groups with half of us in each and we had to prepare games around the topic of food which we eat in the UK. For me, this was one of the highlights of the trip, as I hope to become a Primary School teacher in the future!
How cute is he?
The children were adorable and gave me lots of hugs

Here is one of the meals we were served in the school canteen.
One thing I learnt when we were working in the schools in China (we worked with 2 in total) was that the children work so incredibly hard. Even when they are as young as Pre-School age they are working from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. As you can already see this is a long day for a child who is around the age of 4/5. As a result we saw a young girl who was just 6 years old who played us the most incredible piano piece. We later found out that she had attended numerous competitions and was grade 8! As you can probably tell,we stood there with our mouths open thinking 'WOW'.
Her feet couldn't even touch the floor properly!
While we were in Suzhou we went to a beautiful town where I was blown away by my surroundings. I think that this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been too. This was one of the moments when I was like 'Thank god I have a proper camera!'. As you can see by the pictures below (full size so you can see the detail), it is stunning.

Look how happy he is!
Cheeky :)
Now, you can't go to China and not visit The Great Wall Of China! can you?It is a place where I never thought I would get the chance to visit and so as I was walking around I did think that this would be a moment which I would never forget. It was a truly incredible experience and I felt so lucky to have been able to do it. I am terrified of heights so I would usually avoid something like this, however I knew this was something I HAD to do. I have to say when I was walking along the cobbled wall I did get rather emotional (don't ask me why). The view was stunning. We had about an hour and a half to go off and take pictures and walk as far as we could before turning back. Here are some of my pictures below:

My overall experience was incredible and one that I will never forget. I was apprehensive when I first went to China. It was pretty daunting for me. However I have to say that it is the most amazing country I have ever been to. It is the one of the only countries I have ever been to where I have said that I actually really really miss it. I was there for 1 week which went so quickly so I hope that I can go back in the future as is was beautiful. Everything about China is so different to here in the UK which I found really interesting. I am know as quite a 'fussy eater' but in China there is always going to be something you can eat-even if it is just rice. However I tried lots of different foods which was all part of the experience (even if some were horrible-Duck's heart is something I will never eat again). The shopping is amazing (you can buy LOADS of fake things such as handbags,sunglasses,jewelry-all amazing quality). If you every get the opportunity to go, please do! I can't fault it and as I have said, I hope to go back very soon.

I hope you enjoyed this post-I know it is quite long (but it mainly consists of photos). Please comment if you would like and I will try to post as soon as possible (maybe something to do with beauty?)

Lots of Love

Emily xxx
